“Mom and Dad, we’re getting married!” My husband Tim and I heard this joyous news not once, but twice in January 2015. Our two oldest kids both got engaged and thought it would be incredible to get married on our farm, which has been in our family for seven generations. We had had the idea to restore the old 1915 barn for years, but it had just never made it to the top of the “To Do” list. NOW, my husband had the motivation! And since it was the 100 year anniversary of the barn being built, it was the perfect year to breathe new life into the structure. For our family, it was the summer of all summers for weddings! In addition to our own kids, a cousin of ours and her fiancé chose to celebrate their special day at
the old family barn as well.

After all the fun and excitement we had this year celebrating such happy occasions with our
family, we decided to offer our treasured barn as a venue so everyone can enjoy it. Tim has been keeping it rustic and unique, with lots of old family memorabilia and a wall for all the new brides and grooms to
carve their names and wedding dates into. We have had lots of help and support from family, neighbors and friends, and wish to thank each and every one of them for putting their time, energy and love into the old family barn!

The barn was such an important centerpiece for the working farm years ago – now it will bring such enjoyment to so many couples through the next 100 years!  Oh, if only Grandma and Grandpa could see it now!
